
Lean tools categorize based on their complexity levels. The first level is Yellow Belt, the second level is Green Belt, and the third and most complex level is Black Belt. The following list shows all Lean Yellow Belt tools that individuals trained at the Yellow Belt level can apply practically, in accordance with the IASSC Body of Knowledge. Note that the IASSC calls the Yellow Belt level “Lean Practitioner”.

A trained Lean Yellow Belt is a valuable team member in Lean improvement projects. A Green Belt typically leads small improvement initiatives, while a Black Belt takes responsibility for major projects.
